About the register
FitOutRegister is an independent index of UK companies working in commercial fit-out, shopfitting and interiors. It exists because finding a contractor usually means trusting a sponsored search result — and because the underlying facts about a company are public, free and rarely put in front of the buyer.
How the data is verified

We work from the Companies House company data product — the full register of UK companies. Firms enter the index when their registered name contains a trade term we track: fit-out, fitout, shopfitting or interiors.

Dissolved, liquidated and in-administration companies are excluded. Every one of the 3,269 companies here was recorded as active at the time of indexing.

Specialisms come from the Standard Industrial Classification codes each company filed itself — commercial building construction, joinery and shopfitting installation, flooring and wall covering, building completion and finishing, and specialist construction services.

Regions are resolved from the registered address, falling back to the postcode area where Companies House holds no region. A region page appears once at least 3 companies trade there.
A listing is a record of a company's existence and filed activity. It is not an endorsement, an accreditation, or evidence of workmanship, insurance or financial standing. We do not inspect sites, audit accounts or verify accreditations.
Always take up references, check current insurance and confirm accreditations directly before appointing a contractor. Company records change: check the live entry on Companies House before you sign anything.
Of the 3,269 companies indexed, 367 are matched as fit-out or shopfitting specialists and are shown first. The remaining 2,902 are interiors firms held pending review — some are commercial contractors, some are residential or retail businesses that share the word.
If a listing is wrong, out of date or should not be here, write to hello@fitoutregister.co.uk and we will correct or remove it. There is no charge for a correction, and no requirement to take a paid listing.
Contractors can pay for a featured listing, which buys placement and profile detail — never entry, and never a change to the Companies House facts on a listing. Paid placements are labelled as such wherever they appear. Nothing else on the site is sponsored.
